Join International Neighbors’ Campaign to Keep Girls in School!

THE PROBLEM

In Liberia, the parents of today’s junior high and high school girls lived through two civil wars that disrupted school for a generation– and left the country impoverished. Girls today, are eager to remain in school. Many are already behind due to years lost to school closures from Ebola and Covid. Then, they fall behind their male peers by being absent four or five days each month because no sanitary supplies.

THE SOLUTION

We aim to provide girls with the information and materials they need to stay clean and comfortable in school during their periods.

Since 2018, over 2,000 girls have participated in OCF menstrual health workshops. Each girl received a washable sanitary ‘Pad for Her’ kit allowing her to remain in school during her periods. This is an outstanding accomplishment for a community-based nonprofit of volunteer staff and part time workers. But there are thousands more who need help.

This is Josephine’s passion.
